General Grabber GT tyre's in the snow..?

Hi,

Was anyone here running General Grabber GT's in all the snow we had last year? If so, how did they perform?

The reason I ask is because I currently have them fitted to my Discovery 2, I'm hoping for a bit more snow this year and whilst I'd rather not splash out on new tyres, I also don't want to miss out on all the fun.

I was driving my Suzuki SJ last year and took part in transporting many hospital staff/doctors/nurses etc. back and forth and would like to do the same again this year in the event of a bit of snow. She was fitted with some all terrain tyres aired down to around 16psi and just sat on top of the snow even when it was knee deep and went absolutely everywhere without any problem.

She's not a Land Rover but who doesn't like a snow photo..

GG GTs are road biased tyres with an M/S rating IIRC. However a Land Rover makes the best use of whatever boots it's fitted with. So I'd think you'll move about OK. Snow driving is as much about driver skill as about the vehicles ability to cope with the conditions.

My Freelander went anywhere I liked in last winter's snow, including a local 20% hill and she was wearing well worn Maxxis Bravo ATs at the time. I fully expect it to perform just as well now I've replaced the worn ATs with new Cooper Touring Plus M/S rated road biased tyres.
 
I had an SJ413 about 20years ago, it was a super little truck, wish i had of kept it.
Nearly bought the cleanest one off eBay instead of the disco. If I'd seen the pic above I would have. All the underneath was spotless. Had thoughts of a swift engine and all sorts. A disco has always appealed though and I had to have a green oval despite all the past jap cars.

I wanted a bit more but it was being kept at my in-laws and I felt bad just leaving it there. I fitted a 1.6 from a Vitara in her, Su hif44 on rhino rays inlet manifold, Janspeed 4 branch exhaust manifold, cherry bomb centre box. She sounded amazing with pops and bangs on the overrun and even the odd flame!
