hi,i have a 97 2.5 diesel p38,i bought this about 6 months ago but did not use it as i had to sell my other car first,when i came to start it after it was stood for a couple of weeks the battery was flat so i put my starter charger on it.when it started all the dash lights came on and and will not go out.everything works as it should but the dash lights will not go out,has anybody got any ideas to help me please,thanks in advance.

i would check all connections and power levels etc but i suspect you might need it plugged in to a diagnostics computer

Low battery causes all sorts of fun with P38 electrics. Try a charged battery before anything else.

hi,thanks to all who have helped me,i have put a fully charged battery on it and the lights are still on,it starts and runs great and all the electrics work as they should but the dash lights will still not go off,what kind of diagnostic tool will it need for this model of range rover,many thanks to all.

rovercom/testbook i think are the only ones that will access the becm for this job. if you update your profile with your location someone can recomend a place to get sorted!

I had this on my 4.0se expolice did the same as you , Turned out i fried the brains under the seat had to be repaired. ok when i got it back but they missed the some things out like it not going to sleep so out it come agin repairded no charge there fault. I was told 395 to repair or around 650 for a new one i was told .

hi gavbriggs,thanks for your help,i live in manchester.if anybody knows someone near me who can sort this problem out i will be most gratefull,thanks to all who have responded.
