This is just out of curiosity,

Whats the difference between the two?

Heard them being mentioned abit and wanted to know more?

Well they both run on petrol or gas, blow head gaskets and slip liners and have more cylinders and heads to go wrong than my diesel, but other than that I know nothing.

thor is the later engine, with all the problems sorted.[land rover **** talk] no better still same problems, you can tell by looking at engine thor has big fingers across the top of it..

thor engines have a little less hp but more torque, comparing to gems, talking about 4.6 v8.
Thor have better electrics, more cooling system problems than gems.
I wonder if they used nikasil in the thor engines.bmw engines e36 series had nikasil coatings in them from the late 95 till 99,duno if they implemented it on the rr though.

If they had used nikasil they would not get slipped liners:rolleyes:
