I have the TT to use but I don't want to rack that sort of mileage up on it. I'll stick with my DSE as I like engaging cruise and trundling up our national car park network :D
Is there a damper on the v8 that isn't on the diesel then? I find that at 60 - 75 mph the DSE is pretty much unbeatable for comfort and cruising along and I seem to hear more wind noise than clatter and engine noise at motorway speeds. :p

Yes. Think the sump is in the way on the oil burner. That or they were skimping.
Is that the circly lump of rust thing I have near my rear diff? Don't know what it's supposed to do but doesn't do much these days
It's a harmonic balance device??

A chipped Diesel will come no where near a stock 4.6, it might edge up to the 4.0 Gems, but a V8 on LPG doing the equiv of 35mpg is a winner in my eyes. ;)

The TD5 engine or VM 6 pot would of been a better engine to suit the P38 ;)

Why would anyone expect a 2.5 diesel to be as quick as a 4.6 litre petrol V8. Why would BMW fit a VM engine in their car and the TD5 did not start production until 1998.
