I'm contemplating a 2002 Disco2 auto but we've driven two in the past (dealer test drives) and compared to the manuals we've previously owned, we found them very sluggish.. As one of its jobs will be to pull a horse trailer occasionally I feel I'd need to get more power. Is a remap and maybe a big intercooler okay with an auto? Will the autobox start screaming in agony? Not about to thrash the thing, we drive normally. Thanks for any replies..
Auto because wife's left leg has been a target for horses too often..

See my thread, having remap done now after researching on here, intercooler is big enough already apparantly, mines an auto as well so i will let you know, im told its the best £250 i will spend on her

Okay, thanks. My 90 has a remap carried out by a previous owner, certainly makes a difference. Wouldn't consider the big intercooler as I think it's powerful enough, though I had one fitted to a new 200TDi Disco1 years ago and it made it into a far better motor and overtaking became much easier and therefore safer.
