Gearlever rattles/sloppy

I have just bought a 110 with the 380 box. My first Defender, though we have had a few Discoveries.
Anyway,
Is there a nylon bush or similar at the base of the gearstick?
Also, the diff lock lever moves across nice and freely, but doesn't seem to click in place- is this normal?

There is a plastic bush that wears, along with others parts that wear too. Have a Google for " Slickshift Defender ". Well worth the £75 apparently.
