gearbox

went out this morning to go fishing and on the way the gearbox started to make a lot more noise in third than normal

so im thinking third is ****ed the rest of the box seems fine so .....

how do i find out what model gearbox it would be (1969 s2a lwb ex mil ambulance)

and are there likelly to still be parts avalible for it ?

any help welcombe

The gearboxes have serial numbers on them. The suffix letter of the serial number can be used to identify the gearbox type. I think that most parts are still available. I must find some time to get my ambulance on the road.

where abouts is the plate ?

It will be printed on the casing of the box.
Not always obvious, especially if its really dirty...
