Hello all, looking for a bit of expert knowledge. Im looking at buying a gearbox and Transfer box off a guy as mine has more "slap" than an Austrians Lederhosen. Its an LT77 gearbox and Lt230 transfer box off a V8 landrover, he says it will fit a defender 90 or a 110. But, Other than the obvious, ie. the bell housing is different, will the actual Box and Transfer box be ok as direct replacements for mor my 1989 2.5td 90 ?
If anyone can clarify this it would be most appreciated as I'd hate to buy them only to find they arent compatable.
Cheers :) GARSE

Don't worry, last summer there was a period when we were all bored and had rival virtual pubs in different areas of the forum. Mings trendy wine bar is the only one left in business ;)

We're all mad really - well, I'm not any more and have a certificate to prove it...

Yes it'll fit...

(eaze not a merkin izzy? Only 'eaze got a simliar sence of patience - 'ee only arsked about 6 hours ago ffs!)

Ill set up a traditional ole english pub called the 'ramblers inn' which should attract a multitude of people, including ramblers. Then what I'll do is get the ramblers slolshed and call you guys in to help me cut their toungues out and hands off so that they can't complain about us going green laning. Then we can all eat bacon fries and drink guiness. In the morning when the ramblers wake up I'll wave my finger at them and tell them off for being naughty and crossing farmers land which isn't theirs. I will then call them ignorant, arrogant sods who think they can do what they want, but we can't do what we want. I also expect to make a healthy profit.
