Hi guys,
The never ending list on my 2003 4.4 ranges seems to be ever expanding...
So far I've replaced the cam position sensors, thermostat, pcv valves and spark plugs, a combination of prevention and reaction to fault codes.
Part of the issue is that I only have part service history so I'd rather be safe than sorry...although I am starting to realise the cost implications of not having all past invoices!!
Future jobs include the timing chain tensioners and in the near future, a gearbox service...
The cars had a recon box in the last few years... I can hear a very slight whirring on idle so my thoughts are to swap the fluid and filter out for which I'll use saints useful guide...
My question is re the oil cooler- don't really want the additional expense (£100+) of replacing it and the oil cooler thermostat.
Can the cooler be cleaned/flushed and if so how and with what?
Likewise can the thermostat be cleaned up or is this a recommended change item?
Cheers all.
