Evening all. 2006 Range, 4.2 v8 s/c with auto transmission.

I noticed tonight that one of the oil cooler pipes from the transmission is leaking oil. I’ve found on fleabay some used pipes the listing states it’s for a range sport 2006-2010 same engine same gearbox. Surely they’ll be the same? In need of the opinion of a smarter person than I 😂

At a fraction of the cost of new pipes. And the fact they lasted 17 years and very very corroded. I’d say the used ones which have zero corrosion have a considerable amount of years of life left in them but thanks for you’re advice…no advice on whether they’d fit of not 🫣 I’ll let you know when I have them and whether they fit or not to hopefully help the next person.

Lifes not always about new it’s sometimes about making good of what you have. I’m very happy to sit in my workshop tinkering and fixing things…it’s why I own a Range Rover! 😂😂😂 so if I have to change then 10 times whilst I own this range I’ll enjoy it each and every time.

I'm all in favour of reusing things, currently I'm building a bridge using wood reclaimed from Worthing pier from when it was renovated, but to me things like auto box or engine oil pipes, brakes and steering are a matter of safety. You can bet that if your second hand pipes fail, it will be at the most inopportune moment leaving you stranded somewhere, for sure you will not enjoy that.

I think we can agree to disagree 👍🏻.If they fail then that’s the choice I made and I’ll stand by it but I have recovery and as I’ve said the chances that they burst in the next few years is slim to none. Maybe by then my pockets will be deeper, with a list of jobs that need doing I need to prioritise.AND we are way off topic now 😂. Do they fit…only time will tell, I may need to buy new

To answer to the question whether the pipes fit or not…yes they do. Interestingly they are not the same shape. Slight differences but actually fit better so can only presume the improved their design. 👍🏻
