was at a juncton 2 days ago ,went to pullaway and the was a massive bang and the disco lost all gears first thought it was the clutch as it has been at hte top for a while , but the problem i have with that idear is that when you put in gear and drop the clutch it just sits there making a all mighty crunching noise/ it seems to be selecting difflock and hi lo has anyone got any thoughts on this matter

Gearbox the transfer box intermediate gear. Splines stripped. Common problem - i believe you can get from the rear of the gearbox.

If its the idler gear - get one noo from Ashcrofts and make sure its the cross-drilled version. Best to take yours out first and check the number of teeth. There are two different versions. You mite also need to change the output shaft of your gearbox too.
ur a lucky fella it could of gone half way round happy vally,,, went to cown today pay n play meet up with a few others mick poped his diff tryin to follow me,, lol,, shouldnt try to copy me when he drives a rang rover lol
