Hi guys, I have just developed a problem with ?gearbox, while under neither on Sunday I noticed the bottom of gearbox had no bolts in it and a 1 cm gap, after putting bolts hack in etc, i drove landy and bliss.
On way back from work last night the gear stick was vibrating really bad in 4th and 5th, the clutch seem to be not as smooth as usual, also making more noise than usual,it also seems to be holding back when around 45mph (surging) I have just put new breather pipes on gearbox and axle as rear axle one was blocked.
Thinking it's clutch release bearing but any advise would be grateful accepted many thanks perry

I think you may have to split engine and gearbox and check bush in flywheel for wear and distortion, clutch plate may be damaged, also check input shaft and its bearing.Any idea how long it ran like that?

Not sure to be honest, I was underneath a couple of month back wax oiling and dint notice it then could be unrelated as was fine for approx 60 miles, it was on the way home last night it got worse starting with just a little vibration in gear stick when in 5th then developed into 4th but only when coasting along if foot off accelerator or if I accelerate then noise and vibration subside, when stationary if depressing clutch, the pedal seems to judder when halfway depressed

Sounds like the clutch drive plate is distorted, if not getting worse then I would live with it. Are you getting any juddering when moving off in forward or reverse?

Well it does seem to have got worse, but only drove for 30 mile and not driven since, no judder though

It's a case of how bad is bad, perhaps James might like to come back on this one? But if it continues to get worse then a gearbox engine split may be the only way to find the problem.
