Right I'm at a stage where I need to fit the clutch to my new flywheel (R380 box and td5 dual mass flywheel with genuine clutch) however my universal clutch Alighning tool doesn't fit the spigot bearing particularly well..
Anyone got any suggestions?
I'm guessing a scrap input shaft would be best to try and source
Cheers

Yeah I messed around with that a bit but want to get it spot on as getting the box back in is going to be a big enough maul without struggling to get the input shaft in!

If I had a lathe....

Or one of these in td5 fitment

Halfruauds visit her I come, I wonder if ashcrofts would supply me with a scrap shaft for a small fee? I have got a recon box and transfer case from them on the way...

Iv done a lot of clutches over the years and never used an alignment tool. I get it all in position roughly. Hold the pressure plate on. Put the bolts in but don't tighten them. Just on a few threads so its just holding the clutch plate. Then you can eye up the clutch plate with the centre of the flywheel. Use a small bar or screwdriver to get it dead centre then tighten the bolts up. Fit box job done.
