Iam taking apart a S3 box suffix b, not having taken a gbox apart before bit unsure about deciding if some of the parts are worn (other bits are more obvious) in the pics attached the 3rd/4th synchromesh has me puzzled as to what i should be looking for, on the other pic around the 1st/2nd gear there are the brass synchro cones with small teeth matching teeth on the steel gears do these look ok? what do they do and the rounding off of the 2nd? straight cut gear teeth is this normal or totally shagged,
opinions on above gratefully recieved

did it have oil in it. it looks like it gotten mighty hot in there at sometime. i think i'd be concerned about whether its bin hot enought to weaked the teff which mighty start to break off

if it was mine i'd change all the synchros and any thing else that looked a bit dodgy.. if yer gonna do it don't start cutting corners. if it fooked or looks fooked change it. it too big a job to have to go back to in 6 months / a years time

u got yer gbox stripped so u may as well replace synchros...wont do any harm. the synchros slow the two gears down to the same speed every time u change gears to avoid grating. really old synchroless lumps need double declutching every gear change. gears in the pics seem to be ok.
