I have a series 3 petrol and it's happened 2 times tonight after reversing she won't go in any gear other than reverse. I have done a search and it seems people are saying bleed the clutch, if this was the case I would expect a grinding when trying to select a gear but there is no noise, is this correct? It's just like trying to push against a wall. As quickly as they vanish they come back and seem to select better that ever. I haven't noticed any leaking from slave cylinder and the fluid level has not dropped from when it was checked last week. Clutch is also bitting a little high but is not slipping or dragging, I do need to change oil in the box, what's the recommended? I have read ep90 and 10/40 engine oil, not sure which one.
Sorry for the long winded post and thank you in advance.
Dean.

its because its not coming into neutral properly ,if shaft isnt exactly right interlock will stop you selecting others ,have a look at little plate on drivers side of gear box top theres a spring and ball behind it

Thank you mate will have a look in morning

Thinking about it when it won't select it seems to come out of reverse a little earlier than it should, if that makes sense.what would you expect I find does it get **** up and just need cleaning or should I be looking at spring free length?

shaft has slots in it onhe for nreutral one for reverse detent spring and ball should locate and centralise shaft either shafts a bit stiff or spring and ball
