hey guys started to have a proble with my gear selection.... puttin it short its like a stick in a bucket of water..................... i stripped down the centre console and took apart the casin on top of the gearbox, it seems to be the springs for the gear lever and the little wat looks like a hydraulic cylinder with a metal button that gives a bit of resistance so you know your finding reverse and when pressed in creates the circuit for the reverse lights.... would anyone know were i would start to look for these parts? or would anyone have any spare i could buy? rimmerbros sell them but havent any in stock, im sick of finding reverse everytime im comin to a stand still and it makes that cringe worthy crunch................ any help appreciated thanbking you gladly....................

Hi from what I remember you can adjust the tension on that little plunger thing, its a few years ago now, but I seem to recall there was something you screwed up to tighten it, I might have had to dismantle it. It wasn't rocket science, either way.

If the gearlever is floppy across the forward gears, have you made sure the bias spring plate isn't cracked too? I don't know if you can buy the plate, I've always welded them back together.

yeah its the plate, you can buy the plate for a few pounds but luckily enough my new job is in a gearbox refurb place and we had one lyin around! :) thanks for the info anyways although i do still need the little button that push' in as i presume the extra pressure put on it since the plate broke has caused it to give up the fight!!

The upstand part of the plate breaks off due to the pressure exerted by the two springs - you'll know what I mean when you come to put the new plate in !!!!!!

FRC6318 Spring - Reverse Gear Locking Plunger - LT77 is this the "button" that im looking at? that is pressed in once the gear lever is is pushed into reverse? there is a little pin that is pushed out the end when this button is pressed in??

I managed to increase the tension on the reverse detent plunger thing. I forget how offhand. I think I might have dismantled it, after all I'd nothing to lose . . .
