Gear lever trim/knob

Hi,
The leather (or plastic) gaiter around my gear lever has become worn and could do with replacing (2005 Facelift)
Can any one recomend a non Landrover replacemet?. There are lots on e-bay but how good is the fit?
Has anyone also fitted a non-standard gear knob? and are happy with the results.
Any recommendations/pics would be great.

There are plenty of replacement gear knobs, but on the origional the gaitor attaches to the bottom of the knob. I guess on a non standard i would have to fit a collar of some type on the lever to hold the gaitor up.
Don't want something thats going to look crap.

I did it, looked ****e, put the old one back on. I also bought a new gaiter on ebay that looked really nice and supposedly fitted, it didn't. Uselsss.

Disco 2 gearknobs are the same shape but have a different inner thread. I'm having this same problem but its minor.

I have the same problem, gaiter is split and the leather on the gear knob is badly worn. Bought a leather gaiter off ebay but it doesn't fit and looks **** and a replacement gear knob from Landrover is £60.

You can get OE gaiters for somehting like £30, and its possible you could bodge a gearknob from a lower spec hippo or D2. I can't be bothered right now though, need a new engine tie bar bush, VCU and still got to tighten up the head bolts a bit. Having said that, everything else I've fixed has stayed fixed .

Hi, I bought one from ebay REAL BLACK ITALIAN LEATHER GEAR GAITER FOR LAND ROVER FREELANDER, STICK SHIFT | eBay fitted it Saturday, tight fit but looks good - you will need glue and 8 hands to do it though
