How can I tell which gearbov I have fitted in my V8 110 CSW 1989? Suspect
its either the LT85 or the LT85 light weight. I am led to believe these run
on engine oil but the oil in there smells like gear oil.

Hi Gerald

I have the LT85 20C heavyweight version in mine and run it on 15W50 engine
oil.
I wouldn't run it on thick gear oil (e.g. EP90) though, the gearshifts will
be too tough when cold and i've heard EP90 can strip the oil plastic pump on
very cold days as the oil is too thick.

I thought all LT85s ran on engine oil?

LT77s and R380s run on ATF, which is also not gear oil.
