Found your site wilst Googling for a UK Manufacturer of diff locks n axles as Maxi Drive Australia has closed down. I did find info some time ago but now having trouble locating website again, all I can remember is they had easily replaceable short front axles eliminating CV replacement on breakage.

Anyway hope to contribute when I can to this website.

I am also on website Aulro.com.au - land rover clubs Resources and Information. , good informative site like this one.

Big things in Cooma NSW for 60th Anniversary of Land Rover over Easter, hope some from the UK may attend as some did for the 50th, http://www.landrover60.com.au

Anyway cheers
Bryce

The company in question made their own diff lock, also a see through diff cover (from memory), also up front short axles easily replaced instead of replacing complete CV joint, just pop out broken short axles once flange drive removed..

Cheers

G'day Rover One!

Sorry, but I don't speak a word of Australian or LandRover-ese, so didn't understand a thing you just said!! :D

I'm just a simple farm girl! But welcome to LRZ, I'm a newbie too!

Hope things are good down under (!)

Hi Suze,

Australian is not unlike Pommie talk, only a bit more relaxed

I'm a simple farm boy who likes Landies as I have eight of them.

Yes things are good down here, starting to cool down expected overnight temps through week around 10c to 23c at midday, need heaps of rain...also forecast for next week as we are on tank water, still in shorts and blue singlet though.

Why are you looking for UK difflock maker, pretty well everyone here uses ARB
I have maxi drives front and rear , the guy who worked for maxidrive is still making the half shafts but not difflocks or portal axle units HTSH

why not pump some water down from Emerald , i think they could spare it :)

Take care Suze these Aussies, will do anything for a VB :p

I'm personally not looking for a UK locker as I run Maxi Drive front & back in my Rangie and Maxi drive in the rear of my Defender.

ARB...well I've never seen a particular product let so many guys down so many times as these off road, mainly hose leaks failing to activate at critical moments and a cheap fix...but at the bottom of a mountain or half way up a 1600metre climb not a lot of fun, besides their for Tojo drivers anyway, or those wanting a cheap alternative.

The reason for the enquiry was I came across them on the internet & now want to talk to them re bringing them to Australia as Maxi Drive are no longer, so it leaves a gap in something that was/is well engineered.

As for the water, they sure can spare it, but their selfish b.st..ds up there in QLD and won't share, I think a lot of Pomms settle there ;)

[Take care Suze these Aussies, will do anything for a VB :p] wrong VB is cats ****.

I think the diff locks your on about are KAM
Re the VB , I dont drink beer so its all P!%$ to me , just going by the slabs of the main types that and Swan Export, I used to see in the back of utes going up to the mines in the northwest when I lived over there:D
re the comment to Suze it doesnt matter what beer it is from my experience:eek:

Hang on a blummin' minute!!!

I posted a "I'm new" post ~ and a "G'day" post ~ and both of the threads have turned into discussions about Alcohol??!!!

I'm being spied on!  It's a conspiracy between the Russians for stealing so much Vodka, and the bottle bank people...

G'Day yourself, I'm new here too. I've just been looking at your pictures, I must have upset someone in a previous life you know, what a terrific lifestyle you have in Oz. (I'm not taking the mick, I mean it)
What radio kit do you carry in your truck? You have some impressive antenna's on the front.

Wasn't it QLD crowd who invented Castlemaine XXXX 'cos they couldn't spell beer?;)

Look forward to chatting to you.

Cheers

Warren
