taken out the water pump on a dse (bmw) was fitted with liqud gasket sealing all over it. would like to have it back in with the proper seal's this time. was losing water before. dose it have two seals or one? got the rubber ring, is there a paper gesget too? having problems finding one. must be somthing in the 2cm gap! looking on the forum. carnt see anything about it.

O ring is for inner face seal pump should bolt up flush , you probably got some gasket seal blocking it going right in flush .

Agree with wammers.

It should simply fit nice and snug.

Mke sure you are offering it up with the bolt holes in alainment.
only needs the o ring seal..
no 2cm gap!!

As Overlander says check for debris inside housing. The pump should slide in and seat flush sealed by the O'ring. That water pump was pretty much universal on most BMW diesels at the time.
