i think that I know the answer to this but plese could you confirm, the engine screams over two thousand revs (shrieking sound) I thought it was the belt but on inspection I can see gas escaping from the manifold, only when the turbo kicks in.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a case of replacing gasket and bolts?
Is this straight forward?
Thanks in advance.

A lot would depend on which engine it is ... but on my 300 Tdi it wasn't a scream as such, more a high-pitched whistle, but Yes, yes and yes. ;)

While you're taking the manifold off (Mine had a missing stud) it might also be worth taking the air intake system of and cleaning out the pipes and intercooler at the same time, kill 2 birds etc .. ;)
