Hello!
Having had a good old search in the forum today, I've found it hard to narrow down on what could be wrong with my 99k miles 2005 Freelander TD4. I've decided to just take it to a garage and be done with it, so I'm looking for recommendation of specialists/people who know Freelanders well in the Windsor (SL4) area.
For those who could just shine a light on what my problem could be, here it is:
Car will not start normally when cold, only if I use 'Easy Start' spray. Once it starts and it is cold, there's basically no throttle response and a ton of smoke and the engine runs quite rough for the 1st minute and progressively gets better as it warms up.
When warm the car will idle normally, but throttle response below 2.5k is sluggish, hesitates at 2.5k, but once beyond that revs normally.
I have replaced the low pressure fuel pump behind the OS rear wheel and rebuilt the fuel pressure regulator based on what I had read on here a month or so ago - no change to the behaviour described above. Any advice will be appreciated.
