Hello to all.
Today I attempted to replace my faulty headlamp.
Front passenger side.
I managed to replace ok but whenever I try to flick on my main beam a fuse just pops( This is fuse no13 which is the second fuse along bottom row in the fuse box) I have tried 7.5amp fuses & also 10amp but they both go pop.
When you replace the fuse the lights work for a short period but not properly, when you flick the main light switch to the centre position only the sidelamps come on but not the dim dip headlights & when you flick the main switch away from you the side & headlamps come on, this only lasts for a short time, when the fuse blows the drivers side headlamp functions in the proper manner, ie when the main switch is in the centre position the sidelamp & dimdip headlamps work.
The full beam still works though?!?
You can do a headlamp flash & switch to full beam (resulting in blinding people)
Anyone help?:(

got a short there matey follow the wres back from the bulb look where it goes through panel holes, my disco somene put 100+ watt bulbs in it and cooked the loom I had to rewire it and replace the switch...silly question iff you disconect the bulbs does it still blow the fuse? have you checked the bulb with a meter? they can be faulty... good luck feller.

Hi
I tried different sets of headlamps with the same results, I didnt try throwing any switches with no headlamps in.
When you say check the wiring will there be some kind of break somewhere causing it to short?
Cheers

Well it seems that there was a break in a wire causing it to short, all sorted now but I think the beam needs adjustment as one side looks dimmer than the other but I'm sure it just needs tweaking.
Also a small thing which I have noticed happening is the hazard light comes on momentarily when using the indicators(on the dash) Is this normal?
;) :)
