Hi all thought I would check that all the bolts are not seized on old tank bracket ,to make the job easier when the tanks almost empty. 4 out of the 5 no probs but the 5th ,the logn centre bolt of the 3 almost off and !!!something snapped(presume a weld) and now it just goes round and round.does anyone know if it comes through the floor or is it in a cavityI have had most of the rear carpet out found a leak (repaired) found that the carpet on the spare cover held on with masking tape. Why oh why dont people just fix the problems .2hrs removing old making tape (oh joy) Still I can glue it properly tomorrow

From what I remember, they are in cavities under the floor. But, if you drill a new hole next to the broken bolt, you could get a riv nut in there and bend the bracket enough to meet the new hole.

I have a riv nut tool and couldn't be without it now. They aint cheap, but if you are working with older stuff a lot it can be a life saver.

This is the one I have,http://www.ebay.com/itm/RIV-NUT-Thr...Ribbed-Rivet-Nuts-FREE-Shipping-/292036871528

I sourced it locally through a tool dealer, so I'm sure you could get one and some spare nuts & bolts.

Thanks ,I have a rivnut set and will probably remove bracket, cut bolt at head and push it sideways and blob of tiger seal to stop if rolling then open hole to 12.7 and fit 10mm rivnut as you suggest .
