Advice please,
110 CSW 300 tdi has been running really well until... almost at the end of a 150 mile round trip when the engine just died with no warning (no gradual fade etc...). Fortunately managed to coast to a safe stopping place on the dual carriage way.
Anyhow, couldn't restart the engine. Checked the fuel supply to the filter by cracking open the bleed screw on the fuel filter housing, plenty coming out when turning over the engine - so fuel supply to filter is OK. Filter is only 3 months old + engine performance has been excellent up until the sudden failure - so I think I can ignore the filter.
The only thing I can think of is that the fuel stop solenoid has failed or there's been a mechanical drive failure of the Bosh injection system - can anyone shed any light?
