Hi All

New here only just got my freelander. I needed a new fuel pump so it went into the garage. The problem now is the fuel gage seems to be going up instaed of down. when I took it into the garage it had half a tank and after driving it for a few days it's nearly full or so it says. is it possible a wire has been put on the wrong way round or something.

Cheers

All wires are on a single multiplug so can't see it being that.

The in tank pump and fuel sender are combined into one unit and there are a few different versions so it could be you have the wrong one.

Take the car back it's up to them to sort it out..

Thanks for that the car is under warrenty but it only cover engine and gearbox. The dealer charged me £150 and said he would pay the rest. But when I went to pick the car up he was suprised it was ready cos he said they sent the wrong pump but the garage fixing it let me take the car and didn't say anything. So I have the feeling you are correct. I hope they don't charge me any more. Thanks

Thanks for your reply I took the car back today and they took the old fuel sensor off the old fuel pump and put it on the new one. Like I say thanks chaser for your reply.
