Hi, I need help please! new to this site and forums too in fact, i've done a search and cant find anything to help, Im on my 3rd Discovery 1, and the latest one i've bought has a problem! its a 1998 and its a V8i, after I bought it I found the fuel pump has a 12v feed bodged into the split charging system cable, so its not fused down at all! I like things right so im trying to fix this problem

I've tested the proper cables going to the pump and theres no power, I've looked into what might be the cause and I found D1s have spider relay problems, so I've ripped the dash apart and removed and found dry joints! yay I thought that's it! but upon refitting still no power to pump :(

I'm quite lucky in the fact I have a spare D1, so i've tried changing every relay I can find from the D1 that runs perfect, to hopefully find the pump relay, but still no joy

next thing I thought of was the inertia switch, so I tried the reset button on it..... then I tried the good one and there seemed to be a different feel! so after many hours removing the washer bottles from the 2 D1s I swapped them, guess what ..... still no power to pump!

while the inertia switch was out I tested to see if power was getting to it and there isn't any, but I don't know where this power comes from, ive checked all the fuses I can find and there all fine

now my questions are..... I was wondering if the power came directly from ECU?? or maybe goes thru any other part of the alarm system to immobilise the pump?? ive tried looking for a schematic drawing of the wiring but I cant find anything

I do have a spare ECU and alarm module thingy, but the latter I wasn't sure would be interchangeable??

I looked at swapping ECUs to see if it worked but I wasn't sure how it came out

dunno what to do next really, I really don't want to continue driving as it is

Any ideas would be much appreciated

Thanks Stuart.
