Mine starts really well, but just occasionally needs to turn over several times when I am parked on a hill (facing upwards). Other than the lift pump is there a fuel pump in the line anywhere? I know Discos have one as part of sender unit.
Usually happens when tank about a quarter full!

Mine did this, it was a split in one of the small hoses between the injectors letting air in and pushing the fuel back.

Thanks both. Surely if there was any problem after the injector pump I would see fuel leaking under pressure? So more likely to be before lift pump, or betwen lift pump and injector pump??

Understood and thanks! Just checked these and two of them are loose at the union with the injectors. Will tighten those and try that! (Then park it on a hill I guess!)
Out of interest if I need to change them do they come as a set with unions etc as it seems to be very hard plastic which would be a job to get on and off the pipes?

yes. On a 200tdi they come ready made. On a 300tdi they are just short lenghs of rubber pipe that are just push fit.

If 2 of em were loose I think you've found your problem. Tightening em up should sort them out.:)

Changed all the little copper washer on the spill off pipes where they go into injectors. Two of them only had one washer and were loose. All on and tightened so hopefully should be fine now
