Does anyone know where I can get a OEM filter that goes in the fuel pump. I was going to replace my fuel pump and I bought a new one and didn't get around to it for a bit so my return policy is up and I cant send it back. The pump itself is identical to the old one. The filter is like 5 times as large and I would have to cram it in the casing to get it to fit and I think it would create some problems. Thanks
(NOTE): Preferred if it was shipping from US.

As far as i am aware there is no separate filter in the fuel pump. The fuel filter goes in the line from tank to the engine.

I think perhaps it's a simple gauze that stops any crud being picked up in the tank. Can't you use the original or is it busted?

The black thing on the bottom is what it looks like

So, does the replacement filter fit the pipe, but is too large otherwise?

Why not cut it and use a clothes iron to seal the cut?
Yes it fits the pipe but is to large. I will try what you said. Do you think not using the filter would cause any issues? Would the pump still last as long or would not using the filter dramatically decrease the life of the pump

I couldn't really say to be honest. If you live in a place with reasonable and temperate climate, then perhaps it will be fine. But of there are dust storms every other week then perhaps not....

Ah I live in Alabama we really don't have dust storms here lol and it's pretty reasonable

Ahh, sweet home Alabama. I'm guessing Neil Young has a lot to answer for... Try my idea of cutting & heat sealing the filter to make it fit. Use a bit of aluminium foil folded over the cut edges, then set the clothes iron to full heat and make sure it seals the edges. Keep us informed :)

Alright will do

I see now what you are on about the pickup filter in the pump itself. The new pump should have one but it didn't and you now can't return it. There is no separate filter for pump listed here in parts lists.Time for make do and mend.
