hi all, my partners 04 td4 has had problems revving about 3000 rpm(ish) and i was thinking that the intercooler hoses where the culprit having watched them expanding and part collapsing when revving.. so ive ordered some silicon hoses. i was thinking initially that the problem might have been fuel pump related and this morning when the car wouldnt start i noticed the absence of the usual fuel pump humming. ive had a look at it and what im guessing is an earth that clips on to the side is completely rusted through and just feel off with the fuel pump connection part of it stuck inside the connector.
after slamming the door shut the pump suddenly started working even without this wire(earth?) connected, i soldered the connection back on and now the 3 amigos are showing, so i pulled the wire back off the fuel pump, which is still working and the 3 amigos are still showing.
dont know much about the 3 amigos but have read that they are sort of connected to bad earth issues?
any ideas?
