Hi everyone and hope you all had a great Xmas,we had in our house but we had to forget about the Freelander.

She has been great during this winter and for us going to work in the bad weather was more of an adventure than a hardship, even a couple of work mates are considering a purchase. Not sure if i can give them the nod at the mo.

The car was collected from the garage after a fuel problem which we thaught was sorted but had problens starting this morning.Evntually she went but we used the other car to go to the shops, now she wont start again. The battery is new and it seams she can't get the fuel for some reason.Lifted the bonnet and found this (below) not sure what it is but know it is ot right.

We went out for teanon Xmas eve and on our journey the power steering was not right,i knew at the time we were loosing fluid and was relieved to make it home. There is quite a bit of snow at the mo and was wondering the best course of action would be.

Don't worry about the filter in the first pic, that's how it's supposed to be. Although originally clipped to another pipe they tend to just be left hanging down by the maf sensor. It's just an atmospheric vent and should be left open at the end.

Only thing to do with the steering fluid for the time being is top up and trace the source of the leak and take it from there. If your very lucky and the leak isn't too big/fast, topping up might buy some time before a fix

check the power steering rubber pipe where it passes the dip stick noticed mine starting to wear through(rubbing on dip stick tube )
