Fuel pressure regulator valve repair

Yeah it is a pre EU03, I didn't fit the pipe o rings to be honest, but looking at the leak as far as you can tell, it is from the regulator not the pipes. It is a pretty constant drip every 5 seconds. It appears to be coming from below the electrial connection!

Hrm, interesting, well the sealing washer on the fuel temp sensor is ERR6192, but not heard of that failing before! Have you got the right gasket on it? There are two gaskets for the EU02/10P engine.

Yeah it's the right gasket as I had the wrong one to begin with, I went and got a Landy MSX100080 which was identical to the one that came off. Do you think it's possible to change the pipe orings without taking the fpr off. If yes I could try that tomorrow before giving in to the expensive fix!

If you had a Defender, probably I've updated the auction with the cut-off point for the gasket which is only really relevant to early vehicles (as all the facelift vehicles will be on the newer gasket) and added advice to buy *both* gaskets if you're unsure. And added that temp gasket to the list.
For those of you who would like to buy a single pack, I did look into this but couldn't make it work financially, especially when ordering enough for 50 units at a time I decided in the end it was easier to just sell the o-rings that LR don't want you to be able to buy.

Shows the whole setup, the larger one is the EU03 unit,, and the smaller one is the EU02.

I went back in there today and replaced the O rings on the pipe connections and still the same leak. Definitely coming from the regulator where I replaced the two O rings previously. Ah well it was worth a go but looks like it's a new valve for me!

Sorry to hear about that Chris, did you do the washer on the temp sensor?

No as I didnt have one, I can see where it is dripping from and it is not from there. Must have a bad valve body, just going to replace it!

Yup, either the valve body or the casting it sits into. Remember the fuel is under quite a bit of pressure and over time this can cause weak points to go!

Ok guys a quick update on my FPR issues. I ended up getting a new valve and it doesn't leak now. I have the old valve and there are no cracks in the body either. Not sure why the O-ring fix didn't work for me, but at least it's now fixed.

I bought a kit and it still leaks, not sure if i have done something wrong or if its the actual block now.

orings on pipes in block often leak once removed and refitted to the point that if you get new one pipes are marked to prove if they have been undone,but i allways fit new reg not kit

Had the same problem, the troube is that the aluminium casting check it with a dail gauge, wears not just the o-rings, can fix it with a S/S sleeve, or use high temp flange seal on face of the steel face works a treat. pumped it to 100psi no leaks. Saves $480 here in OZ.

I had this problem, stripped, checked, its not leaking from the seals or casting it appears that its leaking out of the hole in the side of valve !
So a new valve should fix it, I have heard vw fuel valves are the same and cheaper ? But this small pressed steel valve is made by Bosch and is clearly maked up with parts numbers etc so should be easy to buy, so this is what is foxing everyone the leaks are not from the seals but from the body of the pressed steel valve so something's gone in it, hence all these attempt at seals be replaced are a waste of time just replace the little valve leave everything else alone ! By the way I didn't even replace the gasket as the old one seals up fine and all the o rings were ok.

It's the pressed steel valve its self that's leaking out of the hole in it not the seals, these are a Bosch part and cheap to by, so for get the seals and gasket just fit a new valve to the casting and you should be ok
