Fuel pipe replacement

I need to replace the fuel pipes on my 3.9 V8 as they are well rotten.
My question is what material to go for? I can see several choices; cupro-nickel, rigid plastic, or something else?
I'm not going to use copper due to pressure issues, but any other ideas or suggestions?

pressure issues ?what pressure have you got 34 psi is normal, copper is more than fine as are the rest , push fits couplings are useful to

what is your concern about using copper it holds up to the prssure of your brakes and proberly central heating system in your home ?

Cupro-nickel just seems to have much better properties than straight copper, but I'm really intrigued by some of the plastic products out there

Copper pipe, depending on it's wall thickness and O/D will take several hundred to several thousand PSI. So there is no pressure issue for the sizes of copper tube you will be using as fuel line.

I've just done mine - 8mm OD copper end to end. This works remarkably well with 8mm bore fuel flexible too. Use compression fittings if you are feeling uncertain about push-ins.
Don't muck about with plastics for this - while there are many that are technically fit for purpose, there's bound to be an MOT tester or half-wit mechanic who thinks they are not and then you're in difficulties.
Cupro-nickels are just hard to work with for no advantage.

bearing in mind nearly all fuel fittings are push fit plastic i dont think youll find many picking fault

just about to give this a go on my 93 3.9. get a strong whiff of fuel under the drivers side rear arch, cant see a lot wrong but the damn thing is thirsty enough without leaking it as well.

Guessing that easiest way to do this is to get the tank out first?

The pipes on my '93 between the fuel tank and the fuel filter run on the top of the chassis and had collected loads of much on them.
Got my replacement body panels to weld in this weekend, hope that 5kg of 0.6mm mig wire and 9 litres of gas will do it all.
Going to leave the boot floor out until I have got the fuelling sorted and the spots of rust treated.

update from me, not the feed nor return. Cheers Cooltide i am also thinking filler pipe. i can only smell fuel on the drivers side under the wheel arch, if it had been the feed / return pipes i would have been able to smell it on both sides :/

so how do i get to the filler pipe? i am expecting the wing needs to come off, any tips or nasties that I need to look out for?

O/S wheel arch cover off will give you access. Don't use matches if the lights bad, to look for the leak.

They are easy access iirc. You may be able to hacksaw rotten bit off neck and get a longer tank to neck hose.
If you need to remove neck just lever rubber washer off at top end.
