Fuel guage, speedo, Rev counter temp and odometer intermitant

as the title says my Fuel guage, speedo, Rev counter, temp and odometer guages and dials are intermitant.

it started about a week ago, i noticed that they all just went off as i pulled into my drive. Next day all was fine, then a few days later the same happened. ! now it happens everytime i go out, however on starting up all guages work for about 10 mins. after leaving for 10 mins or so after stopping, they work again but for about 5 mins.

Any ideas ???

Driving me mad, and had to use my satnav as a speedo today - not good !

Fuse 8 or faulty ignition switch is where I'd start....

all ignition lights work as do all other lights on dash, just guages. I will check fuse 8 in the morning, however if a fuse had gone then wouldnt that cause it not to work at all ?

I had the same problem last year,Chaser advised fuse 8 (thanx,cant remember if I said thak you at the time).Recently it happened again,just the rev counter,it turned out to be a faulty crank position sensor.Luckily I had a spare.A right bastard to get at though.

obviously the fuse hasn't blown but there may be a bad connection at the fuse box or the ignition switch as the instrument pack is fed through both...
