biggin on the bump
of how much diesel is in tank. stopped working today. added 20 litres and no difference. done a search and its probably the sender unit/fuel pump. but not conclusive.
any one got some other ideas i might try.
thanx.

when it happens in my transit (when i fill up from very empty) I go find a few speed humps and enthusiastically tackle them, stops whatever sticking every time.... worth a go before you start taking things apart?

its not a difficult job to remove rear plastic strip and pull back carpet to remove inspection plate and check sender/pump unit ,once out of tank (allow to drain before pulling out completely )you can check power to sender and if moving float arm makes a difference

finally fixed it today. basically put an avo on ohms across sender pins on pump and did not get a reading. next step was to remove pump hopeing to see that one of the blue wires had become detatched. but everything looked fine, bollox, a new pump i feared.
after more avo readings were taken, i noticed that one of the solder joints down by the sender arm was not making contact with the printed circuit board. with a magnifying glass i could see a small break in the circuit. this was easily fixed by resoldering the joint with a bigger blob of solder. all working fine now:)
