hi all,

my deisel fuel gauge has always been a bit dodgy, never been spot on, only moves about every 30-40 miles by just suddenly drop all of a sudden.

but i have just got the car going again after me mother stuck petrol in it, and now the gauge is just being stupid. always showing lower than what i no is in the tank.
can someone tell me where the sensor is that detects the fuel levels in the tank and is there a way of fixing this issue.
it was anoying me before, but now its really peeing me off.

if i need a new part, then cost info would be nice.

thanks.
Mike.

The fuel sender is part of the pump and cannot be bought seperatly.

does it get clogged up??? is that why it gives false readings.

and to fix it i need a new fuel pump???

No an spring arm whipes a potentiometer to change it's voltage. The wire or contact arm wear and give false readings. Yes to fix it you need a new pump.
