Hi all
I am a newbie, just bought a defender 90 300tdi 1996, done a oil change oil filter air filter etc but just wondered how to change the fuel filter? is it as simple of unscrewing the old one and screwing new one on?
Hope somebody can help as I am a total novice !!!!!

Its also worth pouring a little diesel into the filter, its a few less cranks to prime it when you turn it back on.

As yella says use some diesel to lube it, although a little rub with grease or copper slip never did any harm either.

Don't horse it on, to tight and you will distort the O-ring and it will leak, once it contacts just give it a little nip. Run the engine, check for leaks.

Aye there is, if you just fill it with diesel and go for it, it will fire after an extra 1/2cranks, and it does that anyway to bleed the air.

Aye, thats what its like in my 90. Got to do a good proper job of it, or you would end up cranking the battery to nothing.
