Front wiper woes

Hello all, recently I though I would treat myself to a new front wiper motor, new wheel boxes and wiper arms/blades. Finished installing it all today and tested it without wiper blades first - all works fine. Then tried with the wipers on the screen (wetted with soap + water) and they absolutely refuse to move unless I help them. I tried with just one wiper on the screen and it can't manage a full wipe without some help.
Take the wipers off the screen and again, it runs fine.
The cable bends up and rotates the wheelbox nearest the motor slightly (I'm now thinking that the nut that holds them needs to be very tight to stop this?)

As you can imagine I'm a bit annoyed as even my old slow wipers + motor could manage a dry screen!
Any tips or suggestions are very appreciated! Thanks.

Have you got the spindle spline adaptors tight on the spindles?
The spindle has either a locating dimple and/or a flat which the grubscrew tightens up on to.
