landrover discovery td5 2003. The front drivers window has stopped working. Checked the switch and all is well here. Removed the panel and checked the wiring, cannot see any faults here either. Next going to remove the motor and the regulator and see if the fault lies here. Any ideas or suggestions would be appriciated. Pete

I had problems with the window and regulator on the drivers window some time back.
After removing the door trim card and stripping off the plastic waterproof membrane I found it was down to some of the bolts having shaken loose and dropped out.
There should be 6 bolts securing the regulator assembly to the door frame, if not check down in the bottom of the door, you'll probably find them rolling about down there.
I replaced them and stuck a piece of gaffer tape over them to stop them removing themselves again. Used the same gaffer tape to repair the membrane and replaced the trim card. Everything working again.

The regulators fail regularly - the quadrant spot welded to the mechanism often comes adrift. They're only about £25 or so IIRC - have done both fronts on mine and one of the backs needs doing - "fixed" by removing the fuse!

I have the same problem on my passenger side window, I have replaced 3 motors already and the regulator once, just keeps blowing them for some reason. Now it just stays broken - although as going to France this summer will have t give it another one for the motorway toll booths

Thanks Guys, just ordered one together with the motor, just in case it's that. Checked this morning and I am getting power to the motor, cannot see anything wrong with the regulator, but I cannot see proper until I remove it. Thanks for your input. Pete

Thanks bobupndown. Never changed a regulator, do I need to remove the wing mirror in order to remove the glass window, also any tips would be appriciated/Pete

You don't need to remove the window. I'm sure there will be a how to either here or on d2 boys club. Once you get the trim off (get some new clips as you're bound to break some - ebay ones are good enough and much cheaper than LR genuine) - it'll become fairly clear.

Managed to replace the window regulator and motor. Bit fidgety but straight forward, didn't remove the window used rubber wedges to hold it in place. There were two faults with the removed parts, faulty motor, and there was a bend in the upright, so job done. Thanks to those that wrote with advise. Cheers guys/Pete.
