Hi guys just a quick question which has got me baffled as I'm new to landys. I've got a 91 defender 110 and have just bought a set of alloys for it off a disco, anyway fitted them but the front drivers side popped the center cap out with the cap over the wheel bearing but no others did. Took the wheel off and checked the hub and measured it and compared to the passenger side, and there's about and inch half difference. Hope someone has some ideas please as to why this is.
Regards Mick

What sort of Alloys did you get?. If they are the Free style alloys they are not rated for a 110. When I tried to fit them on mine both sides on the front popped out.

Hi there i do have a drive member thicker than the other as i measured this when the center popped out when i fitted the wheels, as for the alloys they came off a discovery so are these ok for the 110.

On the 'thin' side is there a lot of CV spline showing out of the drive member, from memory it should be something like 5mm with a circlip and shim?

If you were to change the other side to a ;thin' drive member you may also have to change the CV (and possibly the stub axle as it has an internal bush?) to get the end-float at the drive member correct, you may get away with a stack of shims instead but its not something I've done before so a bit of an educated guess.

hey up kwakerman thankyou for that will have a look at that when i get in tonight and report back
regards mick.
