Hi guys, please help again! Got a noisy bearing, stripped down the hub and got to the stage where I could see what to press out. Can't shift it, broke the press trying. Rave just says "remove hub bearing" Is there a trick to this or do I just need a bigger press and some heat?
Also, does anyone have the numbers for the bearings? So I can pre buy.

Cheers:)

Dont know if the rr is the same but on the defender there is a small lip where the bearing sits inside the hub, use a metal drift and tap it out going side to side and top and bottom make sure you do not damage the hub and be patient .

I'd look on Ebay for a bearing made by "Timken", or a PM to Irishover he'll know the Timken part number, I suspect.

Press wise, you need a 30ton press minmium to get it moving.

Range Rover supply the bearing and carrier as a complete unit as l understand, most car type workshops don't have presses these days.

You have of course removed the circlip. They are difficult to press out with circlip in. :D:D Steady pressure and a bit of heat applied to hub case usually works. I have a 20 ton press and it does them with ease.

Hi you are better of replacing the whole thing. Its about £220 from island 4x4 and they send them to you. I replaced just the bearing and it didnt last long. Not worth the hasel to be honest stripping it down.

Why waste 150 quid on a casting top quality bearing job done, don't waste money on unknown white box bearings....
