The drivers seat in my '94 300tdi ES disco has decided to start collapsing and im getting fed up of trying to repair the bit underneath it. but my passenger seat is nearly mint.

Just wondering if it would be a straight bolt on and off with swapping the passenger and driver seat over?

did this job on mine 97 300tdi disco..

ya have to swop the back rests over or the seat controls will be on the wrong side.. also seat belt receivers need swopping to opposite side... but all easy enough to do...

It is a fairly straight forward job on an early 300, you don't need to swap the seat belts as those on a 94 Disco aren't attached to the seats. Just swap back rests, it's only 4 torx screws on each.

I may have a spare membrane soon as I have a couple of spare seats from a 94 which I am cannabalising with my seats to make two good ones. Just need the time to do it.

I bought a new Exmoor trim diaphragm and seat foam for mine, was easy to fit and now feels like a new seat, well recommended and a lot less fiddly than swapping parts or trying to repair the metal hooks.

dont want to highjack this treat, BUT

does anyone know if the same is true for a disco 2 TD5, electric seats may cause issues...but the side of the drivers base is cracking up on mine

Cheers, back to thread:):)
