When taking the front propshaft off, I noticed that there was a small crack in the front joint housing next to the mounting hole and there was lubricant coming out, does anybody know what should go in there when I put a new gaitor and collar on.

If its the front propshaft

Front CV joint uses graphite CV joint grease. When you remove the prop from the IRD flange there's a metal shield that you have to lever off to get access to the joint, the existing lubricant on mine had turned into a thick oil and piddled out all over the floor so make sure you have a bucket under it.

The stuff was like a thick oil, I'll dismantle and get some CV grease and repack the joint.
many thanks for your answer.

mine is slowly spraying itself over my floorpan. Winter protection i call it. Must get it done soon though

LR only supply a new front prop and not just the boot. Do a search on the Forum as other members have located a supplier of the new boot.
