Hi. Saw Austen at bell engineering the other day and he said the gaitor has split on the front prop shaft where it enters the ird. It obviously needs sorting. He said there r kits on fleabay but he wouldn't use them for customers but I was wondering if anyone in here has used them with much success? Ive emailed a seller and he said there easy to renew. Bit like a cv joint boot renewal on a drive shaft I suppose. I'm going to remove the props and vcu to run it in 2wd drive mode. Thanks guys.
P.S. I've done some searching and I know lr used do do a kit but they don't anymore sadly.

Did he say why he would not use them? Must be a good reason

Well he said he'd never used one so wouldn't/couldn't recommend them. I personally can't see an issue with them as we have all had at some part of our motoring career have had just a cv boot change and not the whole joint. Just wanted to know if anyone has tried them??
