have just bought a set of mud flap brackets and mudflaps for my disco, can anyone shed any light on the easiest way to fit 'em? I have side-steps fitted as well, does this cause a problem? any info on this would be gratefully received! Nick.....

I took my brackets off a while ago when I replaced the rubber flaps with plastic ones and refitted them with stainless bolts.

They just bolt through the floor, would have thought that the holes may be there already, mine used to have side steps and the flaps seemed to fit round them ok.
If the holes arn't there it wouldn't be too much work to drill for them, if you undo the plastic inner step and take off the plastic trim inside on the arch you can fold the carpet back.

Hope that helps.

This is taken from the wheel side, as you should be able to see the point bit in the middle sits against the seam and the edge is up against the sill.

Hope that shows it well enough.

Would have thought that the holes are standard, might be worth lifting the corner of the carpet and see if holes are visible from inside (might have those round black stickers over them), you might not see or feel them from underneath as they will be covered with underseal.

Great! thanks for that jon, as soon as it stops raining, i will go and see if i can see what you sent in the picture. one other thing, how do those bolt things that LR send with the brackets work? or should i use the same length stainless bolts with nyloc's?

Don't know about thr LR ones (they are probably riv-nut type things which can be a pain without the proper tool), just use nuts and bolts at least you can get them off again if you need to.
