Only bought the Landy on Friday and now the window mocks me. I tried to lower the front left window and it moves about 10mm then tilts forward slightly and stops suggesting an obstruction.
When i try to close it it stops with a 5mm gap from the top letting the snow/rain in. Being really new to these can anyone out there help advise please?
Regards
Rob:(

I have the same problem on my 300 tdi, it's quite common for the window to come away from the guide on the regulator. Take off your door card, if you can, drop the window down so you can see the guide. These rust and fail to grip the window. be careful when operating the window because i trashed my regulator trying to wind the window up!

They have plastic runner wheels which are cheap and nasty I thought, it happend to mine, the sod cracked right in half. I found two halves of a bloody wheel in the door panel. Good luck hope you got small hands, the bastard was fiddly to fix.

thats what it'll be, ive got exactly the same problem on my passenger window and the white plastic 'runner washer thingy' has snapped in half. nobody sells these plastic things new so you either need to get 1 used, or buy a new regulator £80 from LR. also beware - there are 2 shapes, round and rectangular, and they cant be mixed

Thanks so much for the advice. Having delved deeper the rear plastic runner has disappeared and was probably lost in a previous gash repair. I may try making one out of paxolin or ptfe, it would be a shame to replace the whole mechanism.
Thanks again guys

Rob

Thanks again guys, I bought a replacement for £28 inc delivery from EBay and all is now well. I would add that you must be careful to ensure that a couple of teeth are protruding from the bottom quadrant (presuming you are adopting a fully up position) or the holes will be misligned.
