front coloured side lights

Hi, I have just noticed a coloured front light on when i have my lights on.

i first thought it was my hazards perminently on but its not. Indicators work ok.
its a small light on the top of the outer colour lens.

is this right ?

front end is standard early td5 not face lift, 2000 V reg.

Someone may have put extra running lights in, as long as your sidelights emit a 5w light and your headlights emit 55w of light your practically legal

You are legally allowed to put extra running lights on any vehicle as long as they aren't red (I think)

Amber marker lights standard stuff, but not normally wired up on uk spec discos, just knock out the blank and fit a bulb holder, looks like some one must have done it.

Yes it is, pre-facelift DIIs are fitted with front marker lights, have a look at this -

Front marker lights are standard fitment on all pre-facelift DIIs, including UK Spec -
