I used an Aquavac to suck the oil residue out. Sprayed it with contact cleaner, (not carb or brake cleaner!) first.
Be careful if you use this method though, in theory the vapour could be flammable and dont use a normal vac as it will smell of oil etc for ever after and the missus will not be happy!
