Friday wasn't a good day, i started out with 2 goals, make the behind the dash warning "Beeps" quieter and sort out my intermittent climate control problem of no blower unless on min or max, so i went for the internal temp sensor behind the dash, i think i may have discovered a bad connection cos now it responds to differing internal temps and blows accordingly.
Next instrument panel about and fit a resistor in line to the speaker at rear of the cluster, i found that anything less then 17 ohm wont make a difference so if anyone else is planing this get 3 resistors, a 20, a 25 and 30 ohm and choose the volume thats suits you best. then i thought i remove the instruments window to clean it and snapped the bloody needle of the Temp gauge, ARGHHhhhhhhh!!!!
And, bloody And, then while trying do repairs i started the engine without the SRS connector connected i now have a airbag warning as well.

So its little wonder that a new instrument cluster was quoted at £567+vat and temp gauges not available separately! thankfully i have sourced one, thankfully, lol and when i take it to indie with test book to clear the SRS warning il have the rear windows set to one touch up as well, make the most of my £40.....at least the beep is quieter now, lol

sounds like a lot of trouble that, i'd have got some earplugs!

I just got hold of one for £10.50, the whole insrument cluster, yeh!!
and as far as the "beep" goes you can just pull the connector of the rear OR get it turned off via Testbook or Rovacom...but i would prefure to hear a warning as and when they sound

Have you put the complete pod in Red or just replaced the temp. gauge? If you go for the complete pod, don't forget that the speedo odometer will probably default to the higher value-bad news if the new pod has more miles on it than the original.

Not actually recieved it yet, it was dispatched today apprently and i know about that mileage thing so im just fitting the temp gauge.

Thanks anyhow.....and when i get me SRS fault reset il have me rear windows set to one touch operation for up, make the most of my £40 lol

Good on ya!!.Get your thinking cap on to get any BECM preferences sorted out. Get them to run a HEVAC check and have the blend motors recalibrated whilst you are at it.....May as well get your money's worth!!!!

Hmm! never thought of that :D
I recieved the instrument cluster in the post today, so well packaged, i swaped the temp gauges over and its all fine..."air bag fault" warning in message centre can be silenced by pressing trip meter button....

Ebay shop "Parts range" can be highly recomended...

Cut a piece of insulation tape about 12mm. square and stick it on the perspex cover of the pod over the SRS symbol so you can't see it-you can always peel it back now & again just to check the bulb is still working !!!
