Hello all - just purchased a 2001 P38 4.6L black on black.

It has about 101k miles on it and has been changed to springs from the airbags. No other known modifications. Engine and transmission seem good, leather and electrics are in good condition. Tiny bit of rust here and there, weird gaskets, small crack in right rear fog light (just epoxied closed today)

Definitely needs new shocks - just bought Terrafirmas and getting them fitted next week. Changing bulbs and wipers. Going to bleed the brake system and change pads and rotors- they feel bumpy, like theres someone pressing back on the pedal intermittently. Not sure if that's air in the system or just bad rotors. Other than that, the only annoyance is that none of the lights in the tailgate (rear fog lamps) do not work at all. found some corrosion in there when fixing the crack in the plastic lens, but no problems inside or with the loom.

The "Telltale" light on the dash for the rear fogs does not light when I press it - usually indicating that the message has been sent to turn them on. Front fogs work. Any ideas for next steps here? Sorry that was a lot of intro.

I also own a 1969 Jaguar E-type (Black on Black) , a 1994 BMW E34 (White on Tan) and also a 1995 BMW E34 (Black on Black).

Ive noticed a certain type of our colonial cousins, do seem to insist on doing so. No matter how often they are told of the fault, it still happens. Perhaps it is one of those there modimificatshuns I hear tell of ;)

Dunt think they listen, now if they did it the proprer way 'innit everything would be well in the world.
Well my little world that i live in, all alone :(;)

;):D

Well my girlfriend is from Wombwell hahah so a cousin by potential marriage one day. Any ideas on the pesky rear fogs?

Thanks for the welcoming words

Colonial cousins is a term used for all those in the former colonies. As most will have great grandparents or similar who emigrated to the colonies . It was not a personal reference
There is a Range Rover section, where you can post the fogs issue. More likely to get an answer in there.

Thanks! Yeah I've heard the familial reference before - all my family came from "across the pond" Waddens, Everists, etc etc very english. Hello and thanks for the warm welcome. Will check out the RR section for the fog issue -

Some dealers will describe a vehicle by its exterior/interior colours. A habit picked up by some owners. A bit like a lot of Series are green on black View attachment 164870

Aah okay cool, hadn’t heard that term before.

My defender is green/dark green/black/silver on grey/black/white so I guess it’s a term that only applies to more ‘executive’ vehicles :D
